My name is Sabina . . . just like Sabrina without the “r.” I was born and raised in Poland during the era when we had to stand in line just to buy toilet paper. I enjoyed my life there until 2001 when I became part of an Au Pair Program, bringing me to my new life in the United States.
For me, though I earned the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Protection Engineering, it was just never my calling. Photography has always been my passion. As a small child, I was fascinated with my father’s old Russian 35mm camera and the mysteries behind taking a moment and holding it forever in a photograph. In 2004 Ifinally began my journey into the world of capturing special moments to be treasured forever. Since then, not a day has passed that I don’t find myself learning something new and doing all I can to improve my skills as a photographer.
When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Rob. Especially when that time together includes long hikes with our dog, Ms. Vernie Wiggle-Bottom. She keeps us busy and reminds my husband and me of the simpler joys in life. I also enjoy the outdoor life, hiking, skating, snowboarding, and singing (when no one is listening, of course.)
As a photographer dedicated to giving her very best, I’m thankful to be able to follow my passion, coming to know so many wonderful people, and capturing the memories in life that create so much of who they are.
Having come from a pet-loving family, I have always been extremely passionate about animals. Dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles… even stinky little ferrets. You name them, we’ve had them! In 2014, my husband and I adopted a wonderful dog, Miss Vernie Wiggle Bottom, who naturally became my model and partner in photography crime. While reveling in the beauty of the portraits I was creating of our newest family member I realized that despite the fact that pets have always been such a significant part of my life, oddly I had no photographs of the cherished pets of my past, much less beautiful portraits! At this moment I decided to offer Pet Portraiture to my clients to ensure that we include our “Honorary Family Members” in our most cherished memorabilia. While technology has positively impacted our ability to instantly capture and memorialize special moments on our cell phones, the beauty and timelessness of Professional Portraiture cannot be replaced. Through Portraiture, my goal is to pause our favorite moments, freezing them in time to create special memories that will not be forgotten with the newest cellphone release.
Thank you for visiting. Sabina Lawson Bina Photography Inc.
The Bina Photography studio is kept clean at all times and additional safety procedures are being implemented in the current environment: All surfaces will be sanitized after each appointment, masks will be provided to all my clients and I will wear a mask as well. The studio is big enough to maintain a 6 ft+ distance at all times. During the majority of appointments, there will be no more than two clients from the same household plus their pets at the studio. Most of the time it is only myself and Miss Vernie at the office. Outdoor sessions are available as well and would be particularly beautiful during this time of year.
