A second chance!

Bruno

Being passionate about Bully Breeds connects me with so many wonderful people. I met Cheyenne at one of my Petrography events at Chuck and Don’s in Denver where she worked at that time. She is an Army Wife and a Pit Bull Lover. We chat a lot about how those dogs are miss labelled and how they are the one that pays the price for irresponsible owners. Last time I was there she mentioned she will be moving out of Colorado so she can join her husband on the east coast. The story of her dog Bruno was perfect for the Pit Bull Project. So we did the session on a cold February day, with a warm hearts, the day before they left the beautiful Mile High City area for a new adventure.

Bruno is a sweet little boy, it was such a pleasure being around him and watching how much love he has for his mom and his sister, who joined us for the photo session as well. Honestly, it is hard to believe that he was Police surrounded after being locked in a kennel for the first 3 years of his life. His story is not that clear, but he may have been a biting dog or a fighting dog. He was labelled aggressive and had a ticket to be put down. Luckily right before his time was up the Farmanity Project out of Las Vegas was able to pull Bruno out and he was given a second chance. Due to his bread, there was little interest in him and he spent 9 months waiting for his forever place. I’m sure now he is happy he waited, cause he got wonderful two-legged parents and a place he can call home.

Bruno was officially adopted in September of 2017. He was super scared and cautious of everything at first. Any fast movement around him and he was bolting out of the room. All he ever asked for was love and attention. With much patience and soft pets over the last year, he learned how to trust and now is running and playing with toys, howling and giving kisses every day. He still gets scared sometimes, but it is not happening as easy as it used to be. For his Mom, he is a life changer, his fun and loving personality helps her deal with depression and anxiety, knowing that every day she comes home he is going to be howling at her & waiting to give her more kisses makes her life fuller!

Despite his past, he is a great example of how a dog can change with just a little bit of love and responsible ownership.
