Amanda and I met through a Facebook post about two seniors Pitties that were looking for a forever home. The first thing that came to my mind was that they need some quality pet portraits to increase their chances of being adopted. We all know it is hard to adopt out one Pit Bull, and we were talking about two bounded seniors.
After a nice long talk, and getting to know each other, we met at an outdoor location in Parker CO. It was cold and the dogs were tired after a long day that included a Vet visit, but they still managed to “smile” and give lots of kisses. Even though their story is quite sad, they are still loving and trusting.
Julius the man, and Daja the lady, are 11 and 12 years old. Their new year did not start to well they were serenaded by their owner on January 3rd, 2019. He and his family were moving to downtown Denver and unfortunately, Denver is one of the Cities with Breed Specific Legislation, so there was no room for the old “coupe”. Their option was to be dropped at the shelter.
Amanda was planning to take a break from fostering dogs, but their story did not allow her to sit and watch as their life was ending. She opened her home for them and gave them the love they deserved and started looking for a forever home for this sweet couple.
Daja is a playful spurt but is generally a snuggle bug that really loves to be near her human, Julius is an independent guy and loves to focus on bones and ropes, but that does not stop him from having kisses on his daily agenda.
The sweet couple is available for adoption at Cane Heaven Rescue.
