We are thrilled to share that participation for What a Pittie is now complete! We are in the final stages of the design process. This unique and meaningful project celebrates the true beauty and spirit of pit bulls, aiming to shift perceptions and challenge the misleading nature of visual identification. Through stunning photography and heartfelt stories, the book highlights these incredible dogs and their impact on the lives of those who love them.
Originally inspired by the fight to repeal the pit bull ban in Aurora, What a Pittie began as a way to rally the community around these misunderstood dogs. While Aurora has lifted its breed-specific legislation, many cities still enforce unfair laws targeting these dogs. Pit bulls are loyal, affectionate, and intelligent companions who thrive in families, therapy work, and service roles.
This project aims to challenge stereotypes, spread awareness, and showcase the true essence of these misunderstood dogs.
Thanks to everyone who participated, your support is making a real difference. Stay tuned as we put the finishing touches on the book — final completion is expected in October, with pick-up at Bina Photography Studio available in late November! Together, we can celebrate pit bulls everywhere and ensure they are treated with the love and respect they deserve.
Over $4,000 in donations from participation in to book supported the Stop Aurora Pit Bull Ban movement and later benefited four local Denver rescues:
Pound Pitties, Hobo Care, My Fairy Dawg Mother, and Aurora Animal Shelter.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made a difference!
